Being Bold with Triangles & Gold

After all the layout's I've done for Sassy Scrappers , I think it's about time triangles got a spread of their own. Usually I'm a square and circle kind of gal, but not with this page (actually correction, I seem to have used added a fair few circles too), but the triangles are the real hero. When I had the triangles idea for this page, surprisingly it all came together quite quick, which trust me, is a rarity for me!

Being in strict lockdown, I've found it hard to be inspired to take photos, and when I finally do, they all seem to be around the same colour palette, which makes sense when you've been stuck in one place for months on end. That's when turning photos into black and white comes in oh so handy an not only makes for great photos but helps me utilise every colour that comes with the September Kit for Sassy Scrappers.

This spread was all about the triangles and using lots of elements from the kit, whilst of course adding a touch of gold with my trusty Minc machine . I also had a few other elements which had been sitting in a tub, waiting every so patiently to be used, and this layout seemed like the perfect time to bring them out of hiding.

I knew fromt the start I wanted to have each pocket filled with one photo and some form of paper, then have elements running down the middle to join at a circle. This for me was the fun part, finding the right bits to put where and coming up with different options. I actually had a blast doing this layout and when things flow it makes scrapbooking so much more fun (in my opinion anyway).

As you might also pick up in each pocket, I had a few vellum word leftovers (cut on the silhouette machine) from other pages which added that extra touch I was looking for on the bw photos. And I also ended up printing the journalling on vellum too. I seem to have a bit of a love for it at the moment, it adds that extra something special whilst being subtle.

My Minc machine... what can I say other than I LOVE IT! For the 'documented' paper in the last picture pocket I stamped the 'documented stamp' from Elles Studio - You Got This and ran it through the Minc. Not only did it turn out better than I expected but I found it a great way to use stamps to make your own filler cards. One thing I am working on is finding ways to use my stamps more in my spreads.

This was a great layout to use up lots of little embellishments, leftover alpha's and those paper scraps which are slowly piling up.
