Roses are in full spring bloom mode here, ranging in almost every colour from lavender to reds, yellows, whites, pinks and my favourite...coral! So with that in mind, I felt I had to take the opportunity to do a layout for Sassy Scrappers featuring this thing of beauty.
After creating my 'triangle' spread a few layout's ago, I wanted to do the same sort of idea with this page... but different (if that kinda, sorta makes sense). Instead of dividing each pocket into triangle halves, I kept the rose photo as a whole and split it over 4 pockets, and still kept the last 2 vertical pockets for journalling and embellishments. It's fair to say this September Kit has been well used, I reckon I have just enough for one more page, so watch this space.
After figuring out a rough layout, one thing I definitely did not want to do was add embellishments to every pocket of the page. That would have been OVERBOARD! So I chose two pockets to add them to and wanted to use more vellum to give it a 'softer' sort of look. I LOVE how the vellum quote turned out, and the vellum tag pocket which I put though the Minc machine.
I still had quite a few embellishments left from the kit which I hadn't used in other pages, so I wanted to create some filler/journalling cards which were stacked with these leftover bits. Enter the always faithful, piles of circles... You can't go wrong with these sorts of cards all you need to do is stack shapes, paper, stickers, embellishments & whatever you like on top of each other to create a layered effect. Whats great about this style is you can do this in so many combo's... from horizontally, vertically to spread out & diagonal. No matter which way you choose to go & how many times you create on of these cards, it will always look different as you are using different items, in different ways. It't definitely my go to when I am a bit stuck on what to do, and an added bonus is it's, a great way to use up small paper scraps and other bits you have lying around.
Well that's a wrap on stacked on scraps and all things floral turned coral. . .
